Fourteen years on from when Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero fought for custody of Dominick, people still ask the young Mysterio who his real father is.
Most wrestling fans will tell you that the business is at its best when they can't tell what's real and what isn't. We now live in a time where everyone barring the very young know that wrestling matches are staged. The results are pre-determined and the competitors in the ring don't really hate each other. Well, most of the time anyway.
A great angle that successfully blurs those lines will be enjoyed, picked apart, and discussed for years after it's over. The custody battle over Dominick Mysterio is proof of that. Dominick is all grown up now, but in 2005, his father Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero argued over who was his real dad. All for the purposes of a WWE storyline, of course.

The storyline culminated in a ladder match between the two real-life best friends at SummerSlam 2005. The winner of the match would win custody of young Dominick. Some of you might be reading this right now thinking, "who on Earth thought anything about this was real?" Well, turns out a lot of people, as was revealed by Dominick himself on a recent edition of WWE Untold.
Dominick explained that kids he went to school with would ask who his dad was, and he would have to awkwardly tell them it's Rey. An even greater revelation from the up and coming second-generation wrestler was that people still ask him that same question now. See? We told you it was a great angle. Almost 15 years later and some fans still aren't convinced that Rey is Dominick's real dad. Maybe it's the height difference.
The episode of Untold is definitely worth a watch. For anyone still in doubt over who Domick's real father is, the documentary includes footage of Guerrero and Dominick between takes. The Hall of Famer would give Dominick a Twizzler every time the cameras weren't officially rolling. Guerrero would also wipe the menacing look off of his face and replace it with a smile. More evidence that Eddie was one of the best ever, as if you needed it.
